Sources: Ratcliffe to hand Jadon Sancho cash to Ten Hag for Man United January signing blitz

Incoming Man United owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to hand any money raised by January sales to manager Erik ten Hag, sources have told Football Insider.

The Red Devils boss will be backed in the mid-season window if funds are raised by the exits of first-team stars.

Football Insider revealed on Sunday (19 November) that Man United are hoping to land a big transfer fee for outcast Jadon Sancho – but are open to both permanent and loan exits.

It is believed that clearing his huge £250,000-a-week wage from the books is also a priority.

Sancho has been widely linked with a possible move to Serie A giants Juventus and Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, as well as a switch to the Saudi Pro League.

Ratcliffe is set to take charge of footballing operations at Man United as the completion of his his 25% investment draws nearer.

However, a well-placed source has told Football Insider that a more sweeping overhaul of the playing staff will have to wait until next year’s summer window.

Football Insider revealed on Saturday (18 November) that Ratcliffe’s imminent takeover is not likely to have a major impact on January business at Man United.

It is believed Financial Fair Play rules will restrict Ratcliffe’s ability to pump money into the Old Trafford side following another summer of lavish spending.

That makes an exit for Sancho crucial if Ten Hag is to have any room for manoeuvre in the January window.

The Dutchman’s side sit sixth in the Premier League and are on the verge of being eliminated from the Champions League ahead of their next European clash with Galatasaray next week.

Man United are next in action against Everton on Sunday (26 November).
