Sources: West Ham ready to submit biggest Victor Gyokeres offer

West Ham are among the Premier League sides ready to fight long-term admirers Leeds United and Everton for Coventry City striker Victor Gyokeres this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The Irons will also be joined by London rivals Crystal Palace, Brentford and Fulham in the race for the 24-year-old Sweden international.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (27 March) that Coventry are resigned to losing Gyokeres if they can’t win promotion to the Premier League this season.

Mark Robins’ side are outside the play-off places by three points with eight games remaining this term.

The Sky Blues want the best possible fee for their prize asset if promotion is not possible – and are not willing to risk him leaving the club for free in 2024 when his contract is set to expire.

Coventry are hoping for a bidding war between the six interested clubs to drive up the price for Gyokeres.

It is believed that West Ham would be well-placed to offer Gyokeres the best financial package if they avoid relegation to the Championship.

As per FBRef, Lucas Paqueta (£150,000-a-week) and Kurt Zouma (£125,000-a-week) are the best-paid players at the London Stadium.

West Ham also have a history of signing the best talent from the Championship – having brought the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Flynn Downes to the club in recent years.

The potential of playing European football could also be a factor in Gyokeres’ choice of destination this summer.

West Ham, Brentford and Fulham are all in with a chance of taking part in international fixtures next term.

Gyokeres has notched 19 goals and eight assists in 39 appearances for Coventry across all competitions this season.

The Sweden international (18 goals) is second only to Chupa Akpom (24 goals) in the race for the Championship golden boot this term.
