'How you can have complaints is beyond me' - Rangers fans mock Celtic after 'embarrassing' development

Rangers fans have unsurprisingly taken the opportunity to mock Celtic after their “embarrassing” defeat to Atletico Madrid on Tuesday (7 November).

The Hoops faced a 6-0 thrashing at the Metropolitano Stadium, but a controversial red card for Daizen Maeda gave Brendan Rodgers’ side a huge hill to climb after the 23rd minute.

Celtic are now at the foot of their Champions League group with just one point and their chances of qualification to the knock-out rounds look bleak.

Braces from Antoine Griezmann and Alvaro Moratra and goals from Samuel Lino and Saul Niguez were more than enough to flatten Celtic, who managed just one shot across the entire game.

Gers fans took the opportunity to rub salt in the wounds of Celtic supporters on social media.

This Gers fan made his feelings about the Hoops’ defeat very clear.

This fan reckoned that Rangers would not have suffered such a heavy loss against the La Liga giants.

Another fan poked fun at Celtic for losing to Atletico’s second-string side.

This fan suggested that Celtic’s lacklustre performance would actually give the Gers confidence for the remainder of the season.

One supporter pointed to Rangers’ poor Champions League record and claimed they were also “embarrassing”.

One fan highlighted Maeda’s controversial dismissal claiming that it was “clearly malicious” and that he deserved to be sent off.

One fan called out a Celtic fan for attempting to compare Maeda’s removal to a previous challenge in the Scottish league and could not believe they were trying to question the red card.

One fan took aim directly at Rodgers and claimed he was “yapping” about the Maeda dismissal.
