Sources: Stephy Mavididi signs five-year Leicester City deal as medical completed

Stephy Mavididi has signed a five-year deal with Leicester City, sources have told Football Insider.

The announcement of the new arrival is expected in the next 24-48 hours.

On Saturday (29 July), Football Insider revealed that the Montpellier attacker was having a medical at the King Power Stadium.

The 25-year-old agreed terms on a £6.9million move and now that the details have been finalised he will be unveiled as a new signing on Monday (31 July) or Tuesday (1 August).

Mavididi will become new boss Enzo Maresca’s fifth summer signing after their relegation from the Premier League.

The former England youth international has impressed at Ligue 1 side Montpellier in recent seasons after joining from Juventus in 2020.

He began his career at Arsenal before leaving them to join the Italian side in 2018.

Last season the winger netted four goals and two assists in 27 appearances and has notched 21 goals across his 98 total appearances for the French outfit.

His contract at Montpellier was set to run until 2024 but will join up with the Foxes as their next summer signing.

James Maddison and Harvey Barnes have already departed the King Power joining Tottenham and Newcastle United respectively.

The Foxes have seen several new arrivals including Harry Winks, Conor Coady, Callum Doyle and Mads Hermansen joining the ranks.

Maresca’s side begin their Championship campaign next weekend (6 August), with a home clash against Coventry City.
