'That's why I adore this guy', 'City should be terrified' - Liverpool fans rave over Darwin Nunez display for Uruguay

Liverpool fans are elated after Darwin Nunez’s “unstoppable” display for Uruguay in their 3-0 World Cup qualifier win over Bolivia on Tuesday (21 November).

The striker bagged a brace with a cooly-finished volley inside the opening 15 minutes before nodding in a close range header in the second half to seal the win for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Nunez has been on fire for Uruguay of late and has scored five goals in his last four games for his nation including in wins against World Cup holders Argentina and international juggernauts Brazil.

His form for Liverpool has been inconsistent and he has been criticised for missed easy chances, but has still netted himself seven goals and six assists on all competitions for his club.

Reds fans have taken to social media to wax lyrical about their “insane” forward and many are hoping his incredible international form can bleed over to his club form ahead of Liverpool’s clash against Man City on Saturday (25 November).

This supporter is hopeful that his brace can give the 24-year-old a new-found confidence.

Another claimed that his form shows that he is better than goal machine Erling Haaland.

One fan raved about his “goal show” against Bolivia and declared that he is, in fact, “it”.

This fan urged Liverpool to bring Bielsa to the club so Nunez can translate his international form to Anfield.

One supporter send a warning to Man City ahead of their weekend showdown.

One supporter claimed to have “never seen” someone like Nunez.

This fan noted Nunez’s ability to score very difficult goals despite his tendency to make the “easy look hard”.

This fan noted that Nunez is truly coming into his own in recent fixtures and is eager to see this confidence in a Liverpool shirt.
