Kieran Maguire: Liverpool on course to bank £10m-plus after announcement - 'Incredible"

Liverpool will be looking to rake in at least “eight figures” from their overseas pre-season programme.

That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Merseysiders’ lucrative plans for the summer.

Liverpool announced on Tuesday (26 April) that they will play Crystal Palace in Singapore on 15 July.

They also face rivals Man United in a friendly in Bangkok three days earlier.

The summer represents the first chance Liverpool have had to visit their huge southeast Asian fanbase since the start of the pandemic.

And Maguire used the cash scooped by Man United in their last pre-season tour as a benchmark for Liverpool’s “incredible” earning potential.

“Liverpool are global,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.

“Their profile at the moment is extremely high on the basis that they havd delivered consistently over the past few years.

“That makes them very attractive. They will be looking for a seven-figure fee from a promoter for each money.

“Man United earnt £11.3m from their last pre-season tour before Covid, for example.

“That is more money than some clubs in the Premier League make from matchday income over a full season, which is pretty incredible.

“Clubs such as Burnley generated £6m from a season. Liverpool can exceed that and will ideally be looking for eight figures.”

Liverpool could be quadruple winners by the time they begin their pre-season preparations.

The League Cup winners trail Man City by one point in the title race, are into the final of the FA Cup, and are one result away from the Champions League final
