Liverpool 28-year-old hailed 'brilliant' by Campbell after Trent Alexander-Arnold reveal

Kevin Campbell has hailed Liverpool defender Andy Robertson for his “invaluable” contributions this season.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Arsenal and Everton striker said the “brilliant” 28-year-old is “an 8/10 every week” for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Robertson impressed against Villarreal on Tuesday night just days after scoring Liverpool’s opener in a 2-0 win over Everton.

Speaking to club media (25 April), Trent Alexander-Arnold heaped praise on his fellow full-back who he claimed would go down as “one of the best left-backs” the Premier League has “ever seen.”

Robertson moved to Anfield in July 2017 and has contributed a staggering 52 assists since.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Robertson’s form, Campbell said: “Robertson is exactly what is needed.

“He is an 8/10 every week. He really is a brilliant player.

“One minute he’s setting attacks off, crossing and popping up in the box and the next minute he’s winning his defensive battles.

“The goal he got on Sunday was a massive one. The longer that game went on the more Everton would have felt as if they had a chance.

“Robertson is so good at the defensive side of the game as well. Dele Alli god down the side and crossed it for Alex Iwobi but Robertson was there to clean up. It is the little things like that the people forget. Those moments are invaluable.

“He has always been one of the most consistent performers in that Liverpool team.”
