Revealed: Everton race Bournemouth for Che Adams

Everton are among the Premier League sides with a genuine interest in Southampton striker Che Adams, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed Bournemouth and Wolves are also admirers of the 27-year-old, who was relegated to the Championship with the Saints last season.

Everton are reportedly closing in on the signing of Sporting CP forward Youssef Chermiti – but will pursue an additional striker signing with a month remaining of the summer window.

Football Insider revealed last month (30 June) that the Merseysiders are keen to add two strikers to their squad with Ellis Simms already leaving and Neal Maupay set to depart.

Adams has just one year remaining on his contract at Southampton – and Premier League suitors will be hoping to take advantage of that fact to land him for a bargain fee.

The south coast club are open to letting the former Birmingham and Sheffield United man depart if they receive a suitable fee for his services.

According to FBRef, Adams earns a wage of £30,000-a-week at St Mary’s Stadium after joining the club for a reported fee of £15million in 2019.

He managed 10 goals and three assists in 35 games across all competitions last season as Southampton suffered relegation to the Championship.

The 27-year-old has managed 25 goals and 14 assists in 124 Premier League outings since making his top-flight debut in 2019.

Adams has also made 23 appearances for Scotland at senior level, notching six goals.

Southampton could move to replace him with Swansea striker Joel Piroe, who also has one year remaining on his deal.

Football Insider revealed on Sunday (30 July) that the Swans will hold out for a fee of around £15-20million for the 23-year-old.
