Celtic have 'big' Kyogo Furuhashi problem after confirmed news - pundit

Kyogo Furuhashi’s shoulder injury could become a “big” problem for Celtic next season.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers defender Alan Hutton said that if Kyogo needs surgery for his shoulder issue he should have done it at the end of last term.

As quoted by The Sun (22 July), Brendan Rodgers confirmed that the striker’s shoulder problem “won’t be right” until he has an operation.

Kyogo has had several dislocation issues and even wears a protective brace in games.

Although the 28-year-old is not in pain most of the time, it is still an issue that may need to be addressed but the Hoops boss insisted it is down to the player how to move forward.

When asked if Kyogo should opt for the surgery to avoid the problem getting worse, Hutton told Football Insider:In my opinion yes.

He has had these issues for a while now, last season it was a problem.

Me personally if I was in that situation as soon as the last game of last season was done I would have gone and got the surgery.

Yes you are missing a bit of pre-season but it is your shoulder so as soon as you are feeling not too bad you can then go on the bike, maybe get on the grass. You are then on the road to recovery.

I think the longer you wait it could get worse, the problem could get bigger and then you are out for longer. What does he do know? Does this plague him for the rest of this season?
