'We are innocent', 'I stand by the club I love' - Man City fans react to points deduction bombshell

Man City fans are not fazed one bit after news broke that they could face a points deduction and potential relegation in the wake of Everton’s Premier League bombshell.

The Toffees’ 10-point deduction was confirmed on Friday (17 November) after their breach of the league’s financial regulations, while the Citizens are set for a hearing over 115 charges.

The Times reported that both City and Chelsea could face a 30-point deduction or even automatic relegation from the Premier League if they are found to have violated financial regulations.

City had their vast charges levelled at them in February and have been accused of providing falsified financial information concerning revenue, sponsorships and operating costs.

Fans have taken to social media to share their feelings – and no one seems very worried about the potentially cataclysmic impact it could have on the club.

This fan slammed the “manifestly unjust” FFP rules and “couldn’t give a single damn” if his club had broken the regulations.

One supporter was confident that, even with a 30-point deduction, City would still clinch the title.

This fan reminded others of City’s vast “lawyer squad” that could be the key to getting them out of trouble.

One supporter took a rather extreme view – “kill football”.

This fan is very excited for City to have their charges cleared and has no intention of remaining humble if that happens.

This fan is adamant that other clubs are simply “jealous and obsessed” with his side, hence the charges.

This fan had a very hot take and claimed Chelsea, who are yet to face any official charges, have done worse than City.

Another noted the “wild” idea that opposition fans were angry over City’s vast spending.
