Pundit verdict on Pep Guardiola potentially quitting Man City after deal agreed

Pep Guardiola has “unfinished business” at Man City.

That’s according to ex-Tottenham and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Guardiola’s links to the vacant Brazil job.

Brazil head coach Tite stepped down from his position following their shock World Cup quarter-final defeat to Croatia last week (9 December).

According to Spanish outlet SPORT (11 December), the Brazilian FA have already identified the Man City boss as their top target.

President Ednaldo Rodrigues will apparently contact Guardiola who has previously expressed his desire to coach the national side.

Brazil have no competitive matches until the second half of 2023 and are in no rush to appoint Tite’s successor.

On 23 November, the Sky Blues confirmed that the Spaniard has extended his contract with the Premier League giants until 2025.

When asked if Guardiola could be lured away from the Etihad in the near future, Hutton told Football Insider:I don’t think so.

I think he has got unfinished business with Man City at this moment in time.

I think he is still chasing that Champions League, he has signed a new contract. It is exciting times there with [Erling] Haaland coming into the picture.

There is a lot more for him to give in the Premier League. Moving forward, is internationals something that might suit him? Possibly, you never quite know. For the foreseeable future all he will be thinking about is Man City.

In other news, an expert has been left gutted by Erling Haaland latest as Man City images drop – ‘I’m worried about it’.
