Bruno Guimaraes: Pundit issues 'massive' Newcastle United claim after 'big' reveal

Newcastle can go from “strength to strength” as new signings Bruno Guimaraes and Dan Burn are integrated into the side, according to Paddy Kenny.

The former Republic of Ireland goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the Magpies will be given a “big boost” by the introduction of the January acquisitions.

As quoted by ChronicleLive (11 February), Burn and Guimaraes are “ready to play” when Newcastle take on Aston Villa tomorrow (13 February).

Newcastle are aiming to record their third win in a row in the Premier League having recorded just three victories all season.

Both Burn and Guimaraes were on the bench as the Tyneside club claimed a crucial 3-1 victory over relegation rivals Everton on Tuesday (8 February).

Kenny claimed he is “quite confident” the Magpies can avoid relegation with the help of the two fresh faces.

“They can go from strength to strength now, definitely,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.

“They had two signings in Guimaraes and Burn who didn’t play and they still managed to beat Everton 3-1, so I think it’s a really positive sign.

“They’ve got those players to come in and give them an even bigger boost. They’ve really picked up recently, and I’m quite confident that they’re going to stay up.

“It’s a good sign that you’ve got two quality players ready and waiting to come into the squad. They’re already getting these massive results without them.”

Newcastle confirmed the addition of Dan Burn on transfer deadline day after agreeing a deal with Brighton.

Guimaraes arrives highly rated from French giants Lyon having signed for £33.5million in the January window.
