Alfredo Morelos cited as Rangers signings slated - 'the fans don't like them', says pundit

Rangers have downgraded their options up front after losing Alfredo Morelos and Antonio Colak.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie suggested that fans are not happy with the new signings who are worse than the players the Gers let go this summer.

Morelos left Ibrox following the expiration of his contract whilst Colak joined Parma after just a year in Scotland.

Michael Beale brought in several new attacking signings this summer after losing players like Morelos and Colak.

Abdallah Sima joined on loan from Brighton whilst Sam Lammers, Danilo and Cyriel Dessers made the permanent switch to Ibrox.

As shown on Viaplay Sports, Sima found himself on the scoresheet in the League Cup win over Livingston on Wednesday (27 September), netting his fourth goal of the season for the Gers.

But McAvennie has not been impressed with the new arrivals.

They got rid of Morelos and Colak but you are not going to convince me at this moment in time that these new boys are better than those two,” he told Football Insider.

I like [Kemar] Roofe, he will score goals for you and he has got a bit about him. I am not too sure about these other boys.

Scoring a goal does you the world of good so maybe he is turning a corner, the likes of Sima and Dessers. I do not think the fans like any of the boys up front because they are not better than what they had.
