'Phenomenal', 'Another Billy Gilmour scenario' - Rangers fans react to Ross McCausland transfer latest

Rangers fans have urged Ross McCausland to sign a new contract amid his links to a move away from Ibrox.

It was reported that the Gers are attempting to woo the 20-year-old with a new contract valid until 2027, but links to the likes of Brentford and Serie A sides Roma and Atalanta may pose a problem.

McCausland earned his senior debut for Northern Ireland during the international break and has emerged as a first-team player since Philippe Clement’s arrival, making appearances in the last five league games.

The youngster’s contract expires this summer and Clement himself is keen to keep him at the club and revealed he will give him chances at Rangers.

Fans have taken to social media to plead with McCausland to stay, but some feel it could be a real challenge.

This fan hailed his “phenomenal” form this season and claimed Rangers is the best place for his development right now.

Other fans simply urged the club to tie him down as soon as possible.

This supporter believes McCausland has a “big, big future” ahead of him but is hoping the club will not forget about their other bright young talents.

This fan told circling clubs to stay well away.

One supporter was worried about why he was “dragging his heels” over signing a new deal.

Another claimed it could be tough for Rangers to convince him to stay amid his links to other huge clubs.

This fan had no doubt in his mind that if the deal came down to money, then the Gers would lose out but remained hopeful that McCausland would think with his heart and not his wallet.
