Sheffield United loanee Gibbs-White will fetch Wolves '£30m' - Kenny

Paddy Kenny has claimed Sheffield United loanee Morgan Gibbs-White is worth up to £30million to his parent club Wolves.

The former Blades goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 21-year-old’s loan spell at Bramall Lane is doing him “nothing but favours”.

As quoted by the Birmingham Mail on Tuesday, Sheffield United boss Slavisa Jokanovic claimed he could develop Gibbs-White so he can be “better” for Wolves.

He also insisted the player would rather be gaining first-team experience than “sitting on the bench” at the Premier League club, in response to calls for Wolves to recall the midfielder.

Gibbs-White has netted three and assisted two in the Championship since joining Sheffield United on loan as the summer transfer window slammed shut.

The youngster’s progress suffered a blow during the Blades’ last outing, however, when he was shown a second yellow card for simulation.

Kenny insisted regular first-team action is crucial to Gibbs-White’s development.

“He can definitely hit that £20-30m valuation – he’s shown what a good player he is,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.

“These days, English players are valued higher than most, but he just needs to keep up his form.

“He can obviously have his dips, but he’s done really well every time I’ve watched him, and that includes the last game up until the red card.

“He’s got massive potential. This loan move will do him nothing but favours.

“Playing week-in, week-out is exactly what he needs at his young age.”

Gibbs-White was part of the England U17 side which recorded a famous World Cup triumph in 2017.

The youngster now has a place in the Three Lions’ U21 set-up, making three appearances.

In other news, pundit insists Jokanovic has got this decision “spot on” for Sheffield United.
