Wolves tipped to recall Gibbs-White from Sheffield United - Kenny

There is a real chance that on-loan Sheffield United star Mogan Gibbs-White could be recalled by Wolves in January.

So says Blades icon Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 21-year-old midfielder.

Gibbs-White signed for Sheffield United on deadline day, 31 August, on a season-long loan deal from Wolves.

The Express and Star reported on that date that the deal taking the youngster to Bramall Lane includes a January recall clause.

The England Under-21 international has since registered two goals and two assists in five appearances in United colours.

Wolves boss Bruno Lage told the Express and Star on 10 September that he would have “preferred him” to stay but that he “respects the ambition.”

But Kenny fears that Wolves, who are 14th in the Premier League, could demand that Gibbs-White returns to them at the mid-point of the season.

“He has done so well recently, you just hope he doesn’t get recalled,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.

“Wolves are struggling themselves a bit aren’t they, so there is a chance he could go back.

“They’d be gutted to lose him because he’s really proving himself. Hopefully, fingers crossed, they can keep him for the whole season.”

“The loan is good for him as well because he’s getting competitive game-time and giving a good account of himself week in, week out.

Gibbs-White played twice for Wolves in the League Cup this season before he was sent out on loan.

He made his debut in 2017 and has gone on to appear 86 times in total.

In other news, Kenny issues bold prediction after “magnificent” Daniel Jebbison development at Sheffield United.
