Sources: Celtic and Sunderland race to sign Liam Cullen

Celtic, Middlesbrough and Sunderland are tracking in-form Swansea City forward Liam Cullen, sources have told Football Insider.

Cullen, 24, has been a standout performer in the Swans side in recent weeks after getting a regular run in the side.

The former Wales U21 international has scored three goals in his last seven games to give him eight goals in 13 Championship starts.

The striker’s displays have brought him on the radar of Scottish giants Celtic and Championship duo Middlesbrough and Sunderland as all three sides look to bolster their attacking options for next season.

Cullen, who has come through the ranks at Swansea, is entering the final year of his contract at the south Wales club.

The forward has netted nine goals in 30 appearances across all competitions for the Championship club and scored in Saturday’s (22 April) 3-0 win over Norwich City.

Former Celtic striker Olivier Ntcham, who left Glasgow in 2021, was also on the scoresheet for the Swans.

The Hoops are looking to add to their already strong attacking options, having just added South Korean striker Hyeongyu Oh to their ranks that already include Kyogo Furuhashi.

Fellow Championship side Middlesbrough are also looking to strengthen their attack and are set to lose both Cameron Archer and Rodrigo Muniz from their ranks at the end of the season when their loan deals expire.

Sunderland are also set to lose in form striker Amad Diallo as well as Joe Gelhardt when they return to their parent Premier League clubs at the end of the campaign.
