Levy has already dropped big hint over Nuno's Tottenham future - pundit

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy dropped a big hint over his commitment to Nuno Espirito Santo in June, according to Paul Robinson.

The former White Hart Lane number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the length of contract given to Espirito Santo suggests the 47-year-old is on probation in north London.

Spurs appointed Espirito Santo on a two-year contract in July having failed to land a number of their primary targets.

The ex-Wolves man started the Premier League campaign in fine form and scooped the manager of the month award for August.

But, a run of three straight defeats in the Premier League has shifted the mood in north London and brought the spotlight onto Espirito Santo.

Robinson suggested Espirito Santo could be sacked within six months if performances do not rapidly improve.

“Nuno only signed a two-year contract,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.

“What manager in this day and age signs a two-year deal? It is almost as if he is on a probationary contract.

“The chairman does not have to pay you a ridiculous amount if he wants to get rid of you after six or nine months.

“It was always going to be a short-term relationship unless it was a highly successful one. It looks like it could be a very short-term relationship if results stay the same.”
