'What's the obsession?', 'I'm totally ashamed' - Fans react to Jaime Carragher's 'hard truth' on Man United
Fans have reacted to Jamie Carragher’s “hard truth” on Man United manager Erik ten Hag and Aston Villa boss Unai Emery.
The Sky Sports pundit has “absolutely no doubt” that the Villans have been better coached since the Spaniard arrived at Villa Park than the Red Devils, which has caused controversy between both fanbases.
Emery took the reigns from Steven Gerrard while Villa were in 16th place but ended the campaign with a seven-game unbeaten run at home in the league, which continues to this day, and a spot in the Europa Conference League.
Man United meanwhile have had their issues on and off the pitch including humiliating defeats to Galatasaray and Copenhagen and ten Hag’s fallout with £73million signing Jadon Sancho.
Fans have taken to social media to react to divisive Carragher’s take.
This fan admitted that Villa have been excellent under Emery but called the former Liverpool captain out directly as being having an “obsession” with United.
This United fan agreed with Carragher and believes Villa have brought in stronger players and play superior football to sixth-place United.
This Villa fan had little time for people who disagreed with Carragher.
This fan questioned the intelligence of any Man United fan who did not agree with the pundit.
One fan was reluctant to agree with Carragher, but claimed he is “absolutely right”.
This United fan said he was “ashamed” of other supporters for agreeing with Carragher and fumed that the Red Devils would be compared to the likes of Villa.
One fan did not have time for all the fuss Carragher stirred up and claimed his opinion was simply “obvious”.
This fan claimed that United fans may struggle to accept this “hard truth”.
