Sources: West Brom line up offer for Sheffield United star Bryan

West Brom are lining up a contract offer for Sheffield United defender Kean Bryan, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The Championship new boys have been alerted to the 24-year-old’s availability this summer.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that West Brom are planning to offer terms to Bryan in an attempt to lure him from Bramall Lane.

Sheffield United have announced that the centre-back has been offered an extension to his current deal, which expires at the end of this month.

Bryan has yet to accept, which has thrown his future up into the air.

He could become incoming manager Valerien Ismael’s first West Brom signing if a deal can be done quickly.

Albion hope to announce Ismael’s appointment soon and a £2million compensation package has been arranged with his club Barnsley.

But, as revealed by this site yesterday (23rd June), the two clubs are at loggerheads over whether the fee should be paid upfront or in instalments.

However, the snag is only expected to slow the deal down and not stop it entirely.

This site revealed on 8th April that Fulham, Burnley and Swansea were all interested in Man City academy graduate Bryan.

After loan spells with Bury and Oldham, he was released by City and signed for the Blades on a free transfer in 2018.

Bryan featured 15 times in all competitions for the South Yorkshire side as they suffered a defensive injury crisis last term.

He scored just his fourth career goal in a shock 2-1 win over Man United in January.
