'Blood on his hands', 'Terrible' - West Ham fans react to Michail Antonio display in 3-2 defeat to Brentford

West Ham United fans have once again been let down by Michail Antonio after he had an “absolute shocker” against Brentford on Saturday (4 November).

The Hammers were 2-1 up when Jarrod Bowen whipped a ball into the box, but the Jamaican international denied Said Benrahma a tap-in by blazing the ball wide in the six-yard box.

Despite a wonderful volley from Mohammed Kudus and a short-range strike from Bowen, the Bees fought back and won 3-2 at the Gtech Community Stadium.

West Ham have now lost three consecutive Premier League fixtures and now finds themselves in 11th place – six points away from a European spot.

Many supporters believe the game would have been won if Antonio converted his open-goal chance.

One fan was so scarred by the incident that he struggled to even watch a replay.

Another fan fears that the striker’s inconsistency is never going to change.

One fan mocked Antonio’s miss and sarcastically deemed it a “West Ham heritage moment”.

One supporter admitted that he understood that Antonio, who had not scored for seven league games, needed a goal but slammed him for not using his common sense.

This supporter claimed the miss was symbolic of Antonio’s continuing decline.

One fan claimed Antonio should feel “ashamed” for denying Benrahma an almost guaranteed goal.

One supporter is so outraged that he never wants to see Antonio in claret and blue again.

One fan seemingly put all the blame on Antonio for West Ham’s defeat claiming he has “blood on his hands”.
