Sources: Bournemouth could land £40m for West Ham target Dominic Solanke

Bournemouth could fetch £40million for West Ham target Dominic Solanke next summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Football Insider revealed on Wednesday (22 November) that the Cherries have no plans to part with Solanke, 26, in the January transfer window despite interest from the Irons.

It is believed that Bournemouth see the striker as vital to their chances of remaining in the Premier League amid an ongoing relegation battle at the Vitality Stadium.

Dropping to the Championship would see Solanke’s valuation shrink – and it is believed the forward would also push for a move away.

But a well-placed source has told Football Insider that Bournemouth would be “in a good position” to land a big-money fee if the Cherries survive relegation.

Solanke is under contract until June 2027 after penning a new deal just two months ago.

It is believed he could fetch at least £40million next summer if his good form continues – having already matched his best top-flight tally with six Premier League goals this season.

Sources say several top-half English clubs could join West Ham in the race for Solanke if he can continue hitting the mark in the remainder of this campaign.

Signing a striker is a top priority for Irons boss David Moyes going into the January window.

Solanke’s most lethal campaign came in 2021-22 as the Cherries were promoted from the Championship – scoring 30 goals in 49 games across all competitions.

The forward started his career at Chelsea and Liverpool – leaving Anfield for Bournemouth in a reported £19million move back in 2019.

Bournemouth’s current club-record sale was the reported £41million brought in by the departure of Nathan Ake for Man City in 2020.

West Ham’s need for a striker in January could be exacerbated by a potentially serious injury to Michail Antonio sustained while on international duty with Jamaica last week.
