Sources: Bournemouth to reject West Ham offer for Dominic Solanke

Bournemouth have no plans to part with West Ham target Dominic Solanke in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (20 November) that the Irons continue to monitor the situation of Solanke, 26, after expressing an interest in the summer.

The Irons are long-term admirers of the forward and made overtures in the summer window – but the Cherries were not willing to sell.

And it is believed that stance will also be made clear in January with Bournemouth seeing Solanke as vital to their chances of remaining in the Premier League.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the Cherries are aware that keeping the ex-Liverpool man could be the difference between them staying in the Premier League and being relegated back to the Championship.

Solanke has already scored six top-flight goals this season, matching his best-ever tally in the top tier.

The one-cap England international is under contract at Bournemouth until June 2027 after penning his most recent contract extension in September.

He reportedly earns £50,000-a-week on the south coast.

West Ham’s need for a striker could be exacerbated by a potentially serious injury to Michail Antonio.

It has been reported that Antonio suffered a potentially significant knee injury on international duty with Jamaica and has flown back to England for further scans and assessment at the Irons’ Rush Green training ground.

An alternative to Solanke could be Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike – who is set to be available on loan in the January window.

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (21 November) that West Ham could come back in for Ekitike after trying to sign him in the summer window.
