Sources: West Ham set sights on signing Dominic Solanke
West Ham continue to monitor the situation of Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke, sources have told Football Insider.
The Irons are long-term admirers of the 26-year-old and made overtures in the summer window – but the Cherries were not willing to sell.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Bournemouth have no intention of parting with Solanke in the January transfer window.
West Ham are keen to add to their striking options in the mid-season window after failing to replace Gianluca Scamacca in the summer.
Solanke has already scored six Premier League goals this season, matching his best-ever tally in the English top flight.
He has added a further strike in the League Cup, scoring in the 2-0 win over Stoke City.
The England international is under contract at Bournemouth until June 2027 after penning his most recent contract extension in September.
He reportedly earns £50,000-a-week on the south coast.
Solanke’s most lethal campaign came in 2021-22 as the Cherries were promoted from the Championship.
He scored 30 goals in 49 games across all competitions.
The forward started his career at Chelsea and Liverpool – leaving Anfield for Bournemouth in a reported £19million move back in 2019.
West Ham’s search for a striker could be accelerated by Michail Antonio’s recent knee injury sustained on international duty with Jamaica.
It has since been reported that Antonio has suffered a potentially significant knee injury and has flown back to England for further scans and assessment at the Irons’ Rush Green training ground.
