Sources: Blackburn Rovers agree to sign Norwich City player

Blackburn Rovers have agreed terms to sign Norwich City midfielder Tom Trybull on loan, Football Insider understands.

The 27-year-old has been given the green light to leave Carrow Road ahead of today’s 5pm domestic transfer deadline after falling down the pecking order under Daniel Farke.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Blackburn have agreed a last-minute deal with the Canaries to take the German midfielder on a season-long loan.

Trybull joined Norwich on a free transfer after leaving Dutch outfit ADO Den Haag back in 2017 but was limited to just 17 league starts during his first season due to injury.

He played a total of 36 times across all competitions during the 2018/19 season as the Canaries stormed their way to the Championship title.

The Berlin-born midfielder played 14 top-flight games from a possible 20 before the turn of the year but featured just twice during the second half of the campaign as Norwich were relegated back to the second tier.

Trybull has not featured in any of the Canaries fixtures since the start of the new campaign and is now set to move across the Championship to join Blackburn for the rest of the season.

Rovers, who currently sit sixth in the table after two wins, a draw and a defeat in their opening games, are currently the Championship’s top scorers with 11 goals – three more than any other side.

Trybull is set to be the fifth new addition for the Lancashire outfit this window after the arrivals of Thomas Kaminski, Thrhys Dolan, Daniel Ayala and Antonis Stergiakis.

In other Norwich City news, Football Insider has delivered an update on a potential last-gasp move from Leeds United for Todd Cantwell.
