Pundit issues ‘massive’ Kyogo Furuhashi to Crystal Palace claim amid £15m Celtic reveal

Losing Kyogo Furuhashi to a Premier League side this summer would be a ‘massive blow’ to Celtic.

That is the view of former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about reports that Crystal Palace are interested in the 28-year-old star.

Football Insider sources revealed on Sunday (9 April) that Celtic talisman Kyogo dreams of playing in the Premier League amid interest from Crystal Palace.

The Eagles have sent scouts to watch the Japanese star this season ahead of a possible summer transfer.

It is understood that a £15million bid from Palace would be enough to secure his signature at the end of the season.

Kyogo has topped the scoring charts in Scotland this season with 23 goals in 30 league appearances.

McManus believes Odsonne Edouard’s move to Palace in 2021 shows that it doesn’t always work out in the Premier League, but insists the money is sometimes too good to turn down.

I think losing Kyogo Furuhashi could be a massive loss for Celtic,” McManus told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

But for me, going from Celtic to Crystal Palace has to be for cash.

I look at Edouard too, he went to Palace and hasn’t done that well to be honest, but he’s probably picking up triple as much money.

For Kyogo, he’s 28 now and if he’s ever going to move it’ll be now.

“But it depends if he’s motivated by money or not. He’ll win much more staying at Celtic.

I understand, though, that when Premier League clubs come calling with huge wages it’s very difficult to turn that down.

But he’s an outstanding player and a great goalscorer.
