Mauricio Pochettino Tottenham return is now 'only a matter of time' - pundit

It is ‘only a matter of time’ until Mauricio Pochettino makes his return to North London as Tottenham manager.

That is the view of former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about Tottenham’s hunt for a new manager.

Spurs parted ways with Antonio Conte on Monday (27 March), leaving the club without a manager for the remaining 10 Premier League games this season.

Tottenham have been heavily linked with former boss Pochettino as well as recently-sacked Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann.

Football Insider sources revealed on Tuesday (28 March) that Spurs have been in contact with Nagelsmann’s camp regarding the managerial vacancy.

McManus praised Pochettino for not rushing back into a job after leaving Paris Saint-Germain but believes he will be ‘very tempted’ by a return to Spurs.

He’s been out of a job for a while now, and I think he’s been waiting for the Spurs job to open back up,” McManus told Football Insider.

He’s been linked to a lot of jobs, both in England and in Europe but refused to rush back into the sport.

I think he’ll want to wait until the summer before joining, but I think he’ll be very tempted by the Tottenham vacancy.

The Spurs fans adored him during his time there, obviously he got the club to a Champions League final.

“I think overall Spurs have improved since then and it seems to be only a matter of time until Pochettino makes his return.”
