Pundit drops ‘huge’ Ange Postecoglou to Tottenham claim - ‘extremely tempting...’

Ange Postecoglou would leave Celtic for Tottenham if the Premier League club offered him a role as manager.

That is the opinion of former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, who exclusively told Football Insider that Postecoglou has a ‘huge decision’ to make about his future at Celtic Park.

Spurs sacked manager Antonio Conte on Monday after the Italian fell out of favour in North London and unleashed a scathing rant after the club’s 3-3 draw to Southampton.

Tottenham have been strongly linked to former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann, but the Premier League club has also monitored Postecoglou as a potential candidate.

Football Insider sources revealed on Saturday (25 March) that Celtic are preparing a new contract offer for Postecoglou after he was shortlisted by Tottenham.

Postecoglou won the Scottish Premiership title with Celtic in the 2021/22 season and has led the Glasgow giants to the top of the league table this season with only one loss in 29 fixtures.

McManus insists Postecoglou is building a long-term project at Celtic Park but believes he wouldn’t be able to resist an ‘extremely tempting’ offer from Spurs.

Postecoglou wasn’t tempted by other offers from the likes of Crystal Palace, Brighton and Everton,” McManus told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

I don’t think he’s going to leave them for a team not in Europe.

But Spurs will be extremely tempting and they have a lot of appeal as a club.

They have a fantastic stadium and world-class players and I think he would leave Glasgow if Tottenham came calling.

But he is doing very well at Celtic and building a long-term project there.

It would be a huge decision to make.
