Sources: Derby County, Huddersfield and QPR plot January moves for Blackpool star Hamilton

Huddersfield Town, Queens Park Rangers and Derby County are plotting moves for Blackpool winger CJ Hamilton in January, sources have told Football Insider.

Hamilton, 28, is entering the final six months of his contract at Bloomfield Road – and the Seasiders could be susceptible to offers for the attacker in the new year.

Championship strugglers Huddersfield and QPR are desperate to bolster their attacking options in January and are keeping tabs on Hamilton‘s situation.

Meanwhile, League One hopefuls Derby are keen to strengthen in the new year to boost their promotion bid.

Republic of Ireland international Hamilton has impressed for Blackpool so far this season with one goal and six assists in 18 appearances.

The winger’s suitors are ready to test Blackpool’s resolve to hang onto the former Sheffield United man.

He has almost exclusively played on the right flank for the Lancashire outfit this season but can also play on the left and as an attacking midfielder.

The 28-year-old joined Blackpool on a free transfer from Mansfield in 2020 and has gone on to make 114 appearances for the club.

He has notched 10 goals and 18 assists in those outings.

Hamilton played for the Tangerines in the Championship in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 campaigns but chose to remain with them following relegation last season.

He penned a one-year contract extension in May, keeping him at Bloomfield Road until the end of this season.

The left-footer managed three goals and nine assists in 63 appearances during his time in the second tier.

Blackpool sit eighth in League One but are level on points with sixth-place Barnsley in their bid to return to the Championship immediately.
