English club agree to sign 24-yr-old after Rangers contract termination in Sep - Ibrox sources

Joe Dodoo has agreed to join Bolton Wanderers until the end of the season after terminating his Rangers contract, Football Insider can reveal.

The League One club have moved to snap up the forward after he became a free agent when his Gers deal was ended by mutual consent at the start of last month.

Ibrox sources have told Football Insider that Dodoo, 24, has signed a contract with Bolton and will be unveiled as a new signing later today.

The agreement will run until the end of the season.

This comes after Football Insider revealed last month that Bolton had tabled a contract offer to Dodoo as they looked to snap up players available for free.

Rangers announced four weeks ago on their official website that they had come to an agreement with Dodoo even though he had a contract that was due to run until the end of this season.

He joined the Gers in the summer of 2016 when Mark Warburton was manager and went on to make 27 appearances, scoring five goals.

He has spent the last two seasons on loan at Charlton Athletic and, then, last season with English League One side Blackpool.

Dodoo scored six goals and provided four assists in 25 appearances in all competitions for Blackpool last season.

A versatile and quick forward who can play out wide or down the middle, he was deemed surplus to requirements by Steven Gerrard at Rangers and did not make a single matchday squad this season.
