Everton could be 'in big trouble' after Bamba Dieng transfer update - Robinson

Paul Robinson has claimed Everton have “been grossly mismanaged” and have “terribly misspent” under current owner Farhad Moshiri.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said the Merseyside club “have to get it right this January” or they will be relegated.

The Toffees are currently 19th in the Premier League table having only won three league games this season.

The club are currently on the hunt for a new manager after deciding to part wart ways with Frank Lampard.

According to Foot Mercato (24 January), Everton are also actively trying to sign a forward despite their current vacancy.

An approach is said to have been made for Marseille striker Bamba Dieng.

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the potential arrival at Goodison Park, Robinson said: “Everton need a striker that is proven.

“They need somebody who is going to come in and score 10 goals between now and the end of the season to keep them up.

“The club has been grossly mismanaged. The owner has put in a lot of money but it has been terribly misspent. The investment that they have made in players and managers has been miles off it.

“They have to get it right this January or they are going to be in big trouble. As striker remains the priority. They’ve got a week to get one through the door. It is an absolute must.”

In other news, Kieran Maguire has claimed Farhad Moshiri is taking advice from ‘idiots’ amid ‘critical’ reveal from Everton source.
