'Genuinely awful', 'Love to see him against Foden' - Liverpool fans can't decide if Kostas Tsimikas starts against Man City

Liverpool fans are divided on whether Kostas Tsimikas should start against Man City after his display at Anfield on Sunday (12 November).

The Greek international bagged himself two assists within 12 minutes in the 3-0 win to sink Brentford and climb to second place on the Premier League table.

Tsimikas narrowly kept the ball in play and lofted a perfect cross to Mohammed Salah to head home his second of the game before slotting Diogo Jota into space, who then unleashed a long-range strike to seal three points.

In the absence of Andy Robertson, the 27-year-old has been relied on heavily by Jurgen Klopp, who has started him in three of the last four league ties.

Despite his effective attacking output, some Liverpool fans are not entirely convinced by Tsimikas defensively and have taken to social media to discuss if he should start in the Reds’ next clash – Man City.

This fan admitted Tsimikas is “inconsistent” but believes his attacking output will make him a better option than Joe Gomez.

One fan is eager for him to start and would “love to see” what he could do against Phil Foden.

This fan is much less confident in his ability against Foden and thinks he will “get spun 100 times” and force the manager to add reinforcements this January.

One supporter is absolutely against Tsimikas starting as he is “genuinely awful” at the back.

This fan spotted a post-match moment between the £11.7million man and his manager that suggested Klopp was proud of his shift but admitted Liverpool’s tactics against City may not suit Tsimikas.

This fan feels differently and claimed City’s game plan will suit Tsimikas.

One supporter hailed his performances as Roberto Carlos-esque and made a bet with himself if he starts at the Etihad.

One fan suggested the left-back spot is a problem and remains unconfident in Tsimikas’ ability against City.
