Man City star Erling Haaland the chose wrong club - 'he is raging', says pundit

Frank McAvennie has claimed Erling Haaland is unhappy at Man City.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said Haaland would have been better joining Man United.

As quoted by Sky Sports (6 February), former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher questioned whether the 22-year-old joined the wrong club in City as their style doesn’t play to his strengths.

Carragher suggested the Sky Blues might not be the club that can get the best out of Haaland.

The striker joined the Etihad in the summer from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth £51million.

Haaland has already scored 31 goals across all competitions this season and provided three assists.

But after the 1-0 defeat to Tottenham last weekend (5 February), McAvennie insisted the Norwegian doesn’t look happy at City.

Haaland’s face when he walked off the other night looked raging,” he told Football Insider.

They have got the best striker in the world and they are not playing to his strengths. Man United would have been a better option for Haaland.

All this tippy tappy football, that is not Haaland. He makes some great runs and it is not happening.

[Kevin] De Bruyne seems to be the only one wanting to pass to him. [Jack] Grealish wants to run and get fouls but if he put his head up he could play him in.

It is not all rosy there and if it keeps going the way that it is going Arsenal could win the league.

In other news, according to sources, Man City have planted false story as ‘counterpunch’ claim issued.
