Ex-Premier League referee: Liverpool victims of major injustice as Andy Robertson footage analysed

Keith Hackett has insisted Liverpool “can feel very hard done by” after Wolves defender Max Kilman appeared to prevent a certain goal with his arm during their 3-0 loss on Saturday (4 February).

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Fifa and Premier League referee accused the 25-year-old of moving his arm towards Andy Robertson’s deflected effort.

As seen in footage from the Sky Sports Premier League on YouTube (4 February), Naby Keita’s powerful strike deflected off Robertson’s foot and into the arm of Kilman.

The Wolves defender’s intervention looked to prevent a certain goal, which would have halved the Midlands club’s 2-0 advantage.

The incident was checked by VAR official Lee Mason, who declined to intervene and send referee Paul Tierney to the on-pitch monitor.

Wolves eventually went on to record a 3-0 victory through a Joel Matip own goal and strikes from Craig Dawson and Ruben Neves.

Liverpool now sit 10th in the Premier League – 11 points outside of the Champions League places.

Hackett told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I think he moves his hand towards the ball.

“You can see it move towards the ball.

“If there’s doubt in the mind of the officials, then the decision won’t be given. But I think Liverpool can feel really hard done by here.

“I think when you look at it again, Kilman’s arm moves towards the ball and stops a clear attempt on goal.”
