Tottenham could axe Son Heung-min after what expert has seen

Paul Robinson has claimed Son Heung-min could be axed from the Tottenham starting XI against Fulham.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one said the 30-year-old has “not been the same player this season” and is “in direct competition” with Richarlison.

Son has scored in just two of his 18 Premier League outings this season.

The South Korea international struggled in losses to Arsenal and Man City this month.

Richarlison made his return from injury in the north London derby and was also a late substitute in the loss at the Etihad.

When asked by Football Insider if Richarlison should come into the side for the trip to Fulham, Robinson said: “[Harry] Kane plays, 100 per cent.

“There is no doubt about his place in the side so Richarlison is competing for the wide positions. Richarlison was very impressive at the World Cup and he is knocking on the door for a start.

“[Dejan] Kulusevski was incredible against Man City, especially in the first half. When he is missing Spurs lack creativity. You cannot drop him.

“If you look back over the past five or six games Spurs have only played well for 20 minutes against Crystal Palace. It is huge to have Kulusevski back.

“Sonny has not been the same player this season though. There is question marks. Son is in direct competition with Richarlison for his place.”

In other news, a Tottenham expert has issued a ‘big’ Pape Sarr verdict after what he has seen in person.
