Pundit can't believe West Ham after source's Terem Moffi talks update

Paul Robinson is baffled by interest from West Ham in Lorient striker Terem Moffi.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one insisted there is no need for another centre-forward at the London Stadium.

The Hammers are in the market for a striker this January.

Sources told Football Insider on 16 January that the club are in pole position to sign Lorient striker Terem Moffi after holding weekend talks.

The French club are holding out for a fee of £30million for their in-form centre-forward.

West Ham currently have Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio as their striker options.

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the potential signing of another striker, Robinson said: “I do not think there is many positions that they can strengthen in.

“The priority for Moyes will be to get all of his players fit. The performance that they gave at Leeds United was promising. It was not the performance of a team that was struggling at the wrong end of the table.

“When you look at their starting XI if it strong enough to compete in the top half of the table. They should not be in a relegation fight.

“I wonder whether European football has taken its toll over the past two seasons.

“I cannot understand the talk of Moffi. They do not need another striker. Moyes only plays with one up front. They have already got Antonio and Scamacca. There is no need to bring a third option in the equation.”

In other news, Kieran Maguire has claimed West Ham could now strike £60m replacement deal as talks begin.
