Liverpool dressing room in mutiny as stars 'point the finger' - pundit

Paul Robinson has claimed Liverpool look “devoid of ideas” after their dismal display against Brighton.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one fears a “blame culture is setting in” at Anfield.

The Reds were outclassed and outfought in a 3-0 defeat at Brighton on Saturday (14 January).

Speaking to club media post-match (15 January), Trent Alexander-Arnold described the performance as “completely unacceptable.”

Jurgen Klopp’s side travel to Wolves for an FA Cup replay on Tuesday (17 January).

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the problems at Anfield, Robinson said: “Liverpool look devoid of ideas.

“The midfield did not work at the weekend. The thing is, you would think they would play a lot better with the players he has at his disposal.

“They have had a crazy amount of injuries this season but at the same time, would you swap [Mohamed] Salah, [Cody] Gakpo and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for Brighton’s front three. No you wouldn’t. I think 16 teams in the Premier League would swap their front three for that front three. Make no mistake about it, they are underachieving with the players that are available.

“Nobody likes losing. When it becomes a real problem is when a blame culture sets in. People start looking around and pointing the finger rather than coming together and finding a way out of it together. You get each other out of the situation.

“At the moment, I think there is a blame culture setting in.”
