'He's ready' - Exclusive: Robinson urges Poch to throw never-seen player straight into Spurs XI

Paul Robinson has insisted Ryan Sessegnon can be thrown straight into the Tottenham XI when he has proved his fitness.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Spurs and England goalkeeper claimed the summer signing does not require a gradual introduction into the team.

Robinson believes left-sided ace Sessegnon is “ready” and a “huge” asset for manager Mauricio Pochettino as he tries to arrest a startling decline.

Sessegnon has yet to play for Tottenham due to injury after signing from Fulham for around £25million in the summer window.

“He’s going to be a big boost to them, Robinson told Football Insider. “Obviously he was signed with the intention of playing him and not being able to do that has been difficult for the manager and probably more so for him as well.

“He’s going to be a huge boost to the squad and the starting XI in what is a difficult time at the moment for Spurs.”

Asked if Sessegnon is ready to be thrown straight into the starting XI, Robinson replied: “Yeah, definitely. I don’t think he’s a young player that needs any kind of introduction into the first team.

“He’s proven himself, is a proven player and Spurs have bought a player that’s ready to play in the first team.”

Sessegnon is back in training after injuring his hamstring on England Under-21 duty before the season started.

The 19-year-old can play left-back or on the left side of midfield and played a remarkable 120 times for Fulham after establishing himself in their first team at the age of 16.

In other Tottenham news, it can be REVEALED the five Spurs players who are “lazy” and “just avoiding getting injured” to seal January moves.
