'Like a new signing for Klopp' - Exclusive: Robinson hails 'Underrated' Liverpool outfield ace

Paul Robinson has insisted Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is “like a new signing” for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-England and Tottenham goalkeeper explained why he is a massive admirer of the versatile midfielder.

Robinson claimed Oxlade-Chamberlain, 26, has been “underrated over the years” and he “really rates” him.

The England international has been on the fringes of the Liverpool side since returning at the end of last season after a year on the sidelines with a serious knee injury that required surgery.

“He’s been like a new signing for Klopp this season after his long-term injury,” Robinson told Football Insider. “His ability to play in different position in midfield and behind or as one of the front three – I think he’s probably a player that’s been underrated over the years.

“It was a big move for him from Arsenal to Liverpool, I really rate him, I rate him highly, I like his work rate, I like his attitude, I think he can score goals and it’s been like a new signing for Klopp.”

Oxlade-Chamberlain has made seven appearances for Liverpool this season, including Premier League starts against Newcastle United and Southampton.

Since signing for the Reds in the summer of 2017 from Arsenal for £35million, he has played 52 times in all competitions, scoring five goals and supplying eight assists.

In other Liverpool news, it can be REVEALED that the club plan to sell big name Klopp calls ‘Pure Joy to watch’ early next year.
