Kieran Maguire: Adidas 'furious' at Man United after latest player leaks

Adidas will be ‘furious’ at the latest leaks from Man United that players have complained about the quality of their 2023/24 kits.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that the news emerging from United’s dressign room sounds like ‘excuse-making’.

According to The Telegraph, Andre Onana has been wearing a replica kit at United after complaining that the original was too tight.

Other players in United’s squad have also begun wearing replica socks after complaining about the official kit.

United renewed their deal with Adidas as their kit manufacturer this summer in a record-breaking deal worth £900million over the course of 10 years.

Maguire believes United have made themselves a ‘laughing stock’ by pointing the finger at Adidas’ kit while there are much bigger issues at the club.

I think Adidas will be absolutely furious about this,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

It looks like excuse-making from the players.

We’re at a time when I think Manchester United fans are looking for somebody to stand up and represent what they feel about their love of the club.

But it’s making Manchester United look a bit of a laughing stock if you’re blaming it on socks being too tight.

“I don’t see what that’s got to do with the complete lack of effort and players throwing in the towel during the match.

So you can understand that Adidas will be pretty furious given that they do have this £900million deal with Man United.

I don’t think it will have a negative impact on sales but the optics look really poor, where there are clearly issues at the club in terms of its culture.
