Sources: Man United 'desperate' to strike new deal ASAP amid £47m reveal

Man United are ‘desperate’ to replace TeamViewer as their front-of-shirt sponsor, sources have told Football Insider.

The Red Devils struck a five-year deal with the German technology company in 2021 but mutually agreed to end the partnership in December 2022.

The two parties reached an agreement under which United have the opportunity to buy back the rights for their shirt sponsorship once a new partner is found.

Until a new deal is completed, TeamViewer will remain as United’s front-of-shirt sponsor, and they are set to remain as a global partner of the club when a new shirt deal is finalised.

It is understood that the Manchester club currently earns £47million per season from the TeamViewer deal, but the finance team at Old Trafford believe a new deal could bring a higher value.

United’s previous deal with Chevrolet was worth a record-breaking £64million when it was signed in 2012, although rivals Man City have since bettered that value with their Etihad deal worth £67.5million per season.

United are confident that their return to the Champions League this season will attract sponsors willing to pay a higher rate for a shirt deal.

Well-placed sources have informed Football Insider that the club are ‘desperate’ to replace TeamViewer as soon as possible.

The TeamViewer deal was signed during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic when United were willing to accept a drop in value due to the challenging economic circumstances at the time.

Discussions are ongoing at Old Trafford to find a new sponsor, but striking a deal will prove difficult until the outcome of the club’s takeover process is decided.
