Man United dressing room in uproar as kit controversy takes new twist - 'some players have a lot of problems with cramps', says pundit

Man United must rectify their kit issues after players voiced their complaints.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Aston Villa and Tottenham defender Alan Hutton claimed he understands the annoyance and believes Adidas will fix the issues.

Players have complained about their socks being too tight, forcing them to cut holes into them, while Andre Onana has opted to wear a replica kit due to the restrictiveness.

Man United have struggled this season and find themselves eighth in the Premier League table after a late Bruno Fernandes winner in a 1-0 victory against Fulham on Saturday (4 November).

Hutton did not think the kit issues have had an impact on Erik ten Hag’s early-season woes but spoke from experience about how frustrating such problems can be.

“Trust me, it sounds daft but many people who haven’t played football but like watching it might not get it,” he told Football Insider.

“I’ve had situations with socks being too tight. I’m not making excuses for anybody, I’m just telling it how it is.

“Some players have a lot of problems with cramps. Have you ever noticed how they cut the holes in the socks? That’s why.

“When it comes to kits, I understand you’re complaining about certain things but it doesn’t change how you play. It won’t change the result if you have a problem with your socks.

“That’s just something that players just moan about, it’s part of it. You have to get on with it.

“It’s not going to affect them on the pitch or how they play, but obviously it’s a situation that needs to be rectified.

“If all the players are moaning about the same issue, then I’m sure the suppliers will sort it out.”
