Luis Palma at odds with Celtic teammate after what expert spotted

Luis Palma is struggling to play alongside Greg Taylor who hasn’t adjusted to Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic style.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Hoops striker Frank McAvennie is hopeful that once Palma gets up to speed he will be scoring goals for fun but right now he is struggling with Taylor’s positioning on the pitch.

The 23-year-old joined the Hoops this summer and was on the bench for Wednesday’s (4 October) Champions League game against Lazio.

The winger was subbed on for the final half an hour and, as shown on TNT Sports, thought he had put the Hoops in front with ten minutes to go but Daizen Maeda was adjudged to have interfered with the ball whilst Palma as in an offside position.

The Hoops went on to lose the game 2-1 in the dying moments when Pedro found the back of the net in injury time.

McAvennie agreed with the decision but insisted there were positives to take away from the game.

It was just offside,” he told Football Insider.

He looked offside but it was a great finish. The manager was shouting and bawling at him for certain things he was doing but he had so much pace. I knew what he was doing but clearly the manager wants him to play a certain way.

Once he gets up to speed he is going to be a wonderful talent. He can score goals and I think he will be a great addition for us. Greg Taylor is still running into midfield and I do not think Palma is used to that.
