'Get your facts right' - Fans destroy Jamie Carragher's 'idiotic take' on Everton points deduction

Fans have slammed Jamie Carragher’s “idiotic take” on Everton and their historic points deduction.

The Sky Sports pundit was not happy to see the Toffees face such a heavy sanction, the largest in Premier League history, and claimed it was “excessive and not right”.

Sean Dyche’s side finally learnt the outcome of the Premier League’s investigation into their alleged breach of Financial Fair Play on Friday (17 November), but the club remained adamant about their innocence and were quick to reveal they will launch an appeal.

Much frustration for Evertonians stems from Man City, who are yet to resolve their 115 supposed FFP breaches, while Carragher himself pointed to the lack of sanctions for top-flight sides who “tried to leave” the division during the Super League controversy.

Fans were quick to criticise Carragher, a childhood Toffee and former Liverpool captain, for his “endless waffling” on the subject.

This fan warned Carragher that his reputation as a top-quality pundit was on the line if he continued to “misrepresent facts”.

Another supporter claimed he simply got his facts wrong regarding the top six’s attempts to break away from the Premier League.

One implied that the “melt” was only offended because a top-flight side was facing a sanction and claimed that this happens a lot in the lower divisions.

This fan outed Carra as a “serious liar”.

One fan slammed Carragher’s defence of Everton and disregarded his view that the club should not be punished because they liaised with the Premier League during the investigation.

One fan simply questioned the intelligence of the former England international.

This supporter dubbed Carragher a hypocrite for not mentioning City’s supposed breaches, which far outway that of the Toffees.

This fan questioned what “dimwit” Carra meant when he claimed Everton’s punishment was excessive.
