'My dream winter signing', 'Tears in my eyes' - Newcastle fans react to source's transfer reveal

Newcastle United fans have reacted to their potential January signings amid our source’s reveal.

As revealed by Football Insider (14 November), the Magpies are targeting three winter additions amid their worsening injury crisis, including a striker.

The club currently have 10 first-team players sidelined through injury including Miguel Almiron, Callum Wilson, Alexander Isak, Harvey Barnes and Sven Botman, while Sandro Tonali remains suspended after betting breaches in Italy.

Eddie Howe’s side may rely on loan deals to avoid breaching Financial Fair Play restrictions, but an impending vote from Premier League clubs may make it illegal for them to loan Saudi Pro League players due to their mutual owners.

While a reported loan move for Al-Hilal’s Ruben Neves looks to be off the table, the Toon fanbase has taken to social media to discuss their numerous transfer links and predict who could break into the starting line-up.

This fan is eager to see Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface, Real Sociadad’s Martin Zubimendi and Sporting Lisbon’s Goncalo Inacio move to St James’ and enter the starting XI at the expense of some Howe mainstays.

This fan has backed Kalvin Phillips to join the club amid a reported loan move to Newcastle but warned he will need to get up to speed very quickly.

Another supporter was keen on the Man City midfielder to help cover the “burden” of the injury crisis.

Some fans would be happy to see Jarrad Branthwaite move to Tyneside and felt confident a move could be done as Everton would “take the money” amid the financial turmoil at Goodison Park.

One fan eyed up Zubimendi who would be his “dream” signing this January despite his links to Arsenal.

The Magpies have been linked with a move for the £70million-valued Ousmane Diomande from Sporting Lisbon, with one fan calling him the “best centre-back in the world”.

In other news, Newcastle United told £40m Cherki offer will be accepted.
