'Footballing disaster', 'Needs to go' - Leeds fans react to Junior Firpo display in 2-1 win over Plymouth

Leeds United fans were not happy with Junior Firpo’s first game since relegation in their 2-1 win over Plymouth Argyle on Saturday afternoon (11 November).

The 27-year-old got a taste of action for the first time since Leeds’ final game in the Premier League having been sidelined during pre-season and out of the team since.

He replaced Sam Byram at left-back with the Whites 2-0 up but managed to survive a late scare from the Pilgrims but was at fault for Ben Waine’s 84th-minute strike.

Despite a positive first half with goals from Dan James and Joel Piroe, Daniel Farke’s side looked suspect across the field soon after Firpo’s introduction.

Leeds fans have taken to social media and have not exactly welcomed him back with open arms.

Some fans have already determined that Firpo will not work in this team after his display.

Some fans were getting unwelcome memories of Firpo’s Premier League displays but were happy to take the points considering the closing stages.

This fan slammed Firpo for being a “footballing disaster” and claimed Leeds would have had a much more convincing end to the game without him on the field.
