'Car crash', 'Plant for the other teams' - Leeds fans outraged by Patrick Bamford display in 1-0 win against Leicester City

Leeds United fans were unimpressed by Patrick Bamford’s cameo against Leicester City on Friday (3 November).

The Whites took home three points from the top-of-the-table Foxes with a 1-0 win, but fans were not impressed by what they saw from Bamford.

Georginio Rutter broke the deadlock in the 58th minute after a scramble in the box from a corner, with the victory leaving Leeds firmly in third place and just six points outside the automatic promotion places.

Bamford had an appearance to forget after entering the fray in the 84th minute as Joel Piroe’s replacement, managing just two touches, no accurate passes and one offside, per SofaScore.

Injuries have hindered the 30-year-old’s season, but a missed penalty in Leeds’ 1-0 defeat to Stoke City has seen him outcast by some sections of the fanbase.

He was even booed by many supporters in their Championship win against Huddersfield Town on 28th October.

One fan claimed that Bamford, alongside Luke Ayling, was “desperate” for Leeds to drop points.

Some fans wanted Bamford out of the club altogether.

One supporter was critical of Bamford’s work on the pitch, calling his cameo “annoying”.

One fan suggested that Bamford’s performance was a “car crash” and claimed he could do nothing right at all.

One fan was very critical of Bamford’s hold-up play.

One supporter even suggested that the striker was a “plant” for the opposition after his poor display at the King Power.

One supported believes Bamford has “lost his spirit” and must depart Elland Road quickly.
