Kieran Maguire reveals if Everton takeover is about to collapse as Leeds make move

777 Partners will not consider pulling out of their Everton takeover deal despite facing a £300million legal battle.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about how an incoming legal battle would impact Everton’s takeover process.

As revealed by Football Insider on Wednesday (4 October), Leicester City, Leeds United and Burnley are prepared to sue Everton for £300million if they are found guilty of breaching financial regulations.

The Toffees are set to attend a Premier League independent tribunal on 25 October to discover the verdict of their charges.

777 Partners are in the process of purchasing the Merseyside club from Farhad Moshiri but could be greeted by a huge legal fee when they take charge.

However, Maguire believes the threat of a huge legal fee will scare Josh Wander and 777 Partners away from purchasing the club.

I don’t think it will make them think twice about the takeover,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

777 Partners appear to be gamblers and risk takers.

They might factor this into the price that they’re prepared to pay for Moshiri’s shares.

Although I think there’s a case for him accepting £1 and being able to walk away and just and just sucking up those losses.

We have seen at other clubs that should they qualify for Europe then there will be a payment down the line.

So I’d expect something along those lines.
