Manchester United ready to spend £200million this summer to hand Louis van Gaal title-winning squad

Manchester United are prepared to hand Louis van Gaal a transfer warchest of up to £200million this summer to provide the manager with a Premier League title-winning squad.
Football Insider sources have learned that Britain’s highest revenue-earning club are ready to back Van Gaal to the hilt in the market for the second consecutive year.

United spent £149m on new players last summer led by the headline capture of Angel di Maria, who cost a British record £59.7m from Real Madrid.
The exact kitty available to Van Gaal will be dependent upon United qualifying for next season’s Champions League, with the figure set to rise from around £165m to £200m if they finish in the top four.
United pulled five points clear of fifth-placed Liverpool following Sunday’s 2-1 win at Anfield and are well placed to join Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal in Europe’s top competition in 2015-16 although none of their recruitment is contingent on finishing in a Champions League place.
With the club posting a pre-tax profit of £40.5m in their 2013-14 accounts and revenue streams set to soar to new heights next season, United have the finances to make another huge impact in the transfer market.
The £46m-a-year shirt sponsorship deal with Chevrolet that began last summer will be supplemented in 2015-16 by a £75m-a-year kit manufacture deal with Adidas, hailed by United as “the largest kit manufacture deal in sport”.
United’s turnover of £433.2m is by far the highest in English football, around £86m more than neighbours City, although the figure is expected to drop to around £390m for 2014-15 due to no involvement in Europe.
United have spent a net £231m on new players in the last three seasons, as David Moyes and then Van Gaal sanctioned the purchase of expensive star names, including Di Maria, Juan Mata, Marouane Fellaini, Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo and Danny Blind.
The Glazers, the American family who own United, will give their approval for Ed Woodward, the executive vice-chairman, to continue to spend big in alliance with Van Gaal on overhauling the squad and priming it for a concerted tilt at the Premier League title next season.
