Tottenham are primed to sign two players in January as they look to go all the way and win the Premier League.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Spurs and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton claimed that chairman Daniel Levy’s willingness to spend money this winter could make or break their title hopes.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have led the division for most of the season and after Arsenal’s loss to Newcastle United on Saturday (4 November) they are the only unbeaten side in the league.

Tottenham have been revitalised under the former Celtic manager this season but having not won a major trophy since 2008, many have questioned if they have what it takes to go all the way.

Hutton insisted that recruits will be vital if they want to win their first league title since 1961.

“In terms of talking about the league, can they go all the way? I think the big question mark will be what they do in January,” he told Football Insider.

“They’re very strong at this moment in time. I think if they were to go out and Daniel Levy is ready to spend money and bring in, say, a striker.

“Somebody who can really lighten that load and really help them up top. I think then they’ll be in the conversation.

“We’ll wait and see what they do, but one or two additions in January and they can push the top teams.”
